About Us

Brent Citizens Advice Bureau

is an independent registered charity - the only charity in Brent to provide free, confidential, impartial and independent advice and information on a wide range of subjects including Debt, Welfare Benefits, Employment, Consumer Rights, Housing, Immigration and other legal problems. We are an equal opportunities employer.

We are a member of Citizens Advice, one of the UK's largest voluntary organisations serving 469 Citizens Advice Bureaux from 3,200 locations. Citizens Advice sets standards for advice and support bureaux with an information system, training and other services. Citizens Advice also co-ordinates the bureaux social policy, media, publicity and parliamentary work.

We are:
  • a provider of advice and information
  • a means of increasing personal income
  • an employer
  • a training organisation
  • an active supporter of local community groups
  • an important influence on local policy

The Aims

To ensure that individuals do not suffer through lack of knowledge of their rights and responsibilities or the service available to them, or through an inability to express their needs effectively.
And equally: to exercise a responsible influence on the development of social policies and services, both locally and nationally.
